Full-time Academic Assistant

at M-TEL International School in Phnom Penh

Job Description
  Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist and support academic managers, school principal, and VP in their day-to-day tasks.
Assist school principal in preparing and scheduling academic programs.
Ensure timely supplies of academic books and materials to faculty members.
Maintain and manage inventory of books, educational materials and supplies that the teacher request from Office Assistant 
Maintain and manage inventory of books, educational materials and supplies in the library (check report from Librarian
Interact with students and resolve their academic issues and resolve any conflicts between the students
Substitute a teacher when a teacher is absent 
Explain to new teachers how to input marks and comments into excel files and report cards
Schedule and inform all teachers regarding meeting, announcement, PTC… 
Note down all discussed points during teacher’s monthly meeting
Preparation of instructional materials, test papers, handouts and other material necessary for teaching/testing students 
Prepare monthly attendance reports of every student 
Handling student’s long absences 
Observe the participation of students in individual and group activities 
Examine student agenda book, homework, assignments and performance of students in other activities to evaluate the teacher 
Execute the teacher evaluation questionnaires per term
Make sure teachers submit test papers, marks and comments on time
Prepare academic reports, records and statistical statements as required by the principal and faculty.
Organize and prepare for PTC (Prepare letters to parents, sending out letters, report the result of the PTC to principal 
Filing all exam papers and report cards into designated filing cabinet, check if any missing
Follow school policies, guidelines, laws and regulations.
Maintain good relationship with parents
Handle parent complaints/inquiries regarding academic issues
Conduct Parent Orientation Presentation 
Be in charge of School events
Assist teachers and events manager with school field trips
Act as Khmer Emcee if necessary
Ensure the smooth operation of Year End events
Handle all Ministry affairs (i.e. inspections)
Translate School documents from English to Khmer, Khmer to English
Other tasks as required
Job Requirements
  Age 30+ years old
Leadership skills: You cannot manage a large group of students and teachers without effective leadership 
Patience and diplomacy: You need to be patient and diplomatic in order to manage situations of conflict and misbehavior 
Observance: You must be observant enough to keep an eye on the behavior and progress of students 
Technical skills: You have to be well versed with the different applications used in preparation of instructional materials and digital records related to students performance and classroom activities 
Communication skills: Timely and effective communication is the key to manage the daily chores in an educational institute (English and Khmer)
Organizational and multitasking skills: Classroom activities, extracurricular activities, administrative tasks and other chores of this job demand individuals who can manage to schedule and perform their daily tasks promptly
Good public speaking skill (i.e. presentation)
Previous experience in school setting is an asset
Working Hour:
Monday to Friday 7:15 am – 5:30 pm Lunch: 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Saturday 8:00 am – 3:00 pm Lunch: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
